Camera Movements :P

For this blog, I went ahead and decided to take some videos of my friends just doing random things around the library and decided to incorporate them into my assignment!

My Camera Movements/Shots:

Static Shot: For this shot, I have my camera set up on a tripod, so I can get a clear, non-shaky shot of me and my friends playing ring a round a rosie.  This shot can give somebody a strong feeling of friendship and belonging, as they are looking in on a fun, carefree moment.

Handheld: This shot is taken straight from my phone camera and I have no stands or professional cameras, so, it is showing the shakiness of my hands. This evokes feelings of horror as the guy being watched, Alex Jones, has mixed opinions that may be controversial.

Tilt: This is a movement where the camera is remaining static, but is moving up and down to show the span of the wall and the American flag and camera in front of it. This movement may evoke feelings of patriotism, as it shows the American flag in all its glory.
Pan: This is a movement where the camera is very still, but continues moving from the left to the right, to show the span of the library to its main focus of my friend Aiden. This movement evokes feelings of curiosity since it focuses on Aiden looking really laid back and reading something the camera cannot see.
Tracking Shot: This shot is where the camera is following the movement of somebody as it is attached to a physical thing when doing so. This evokes a feeling of curiosity, and helps stay informed of what is going on in somebody else's life/what they are doing at the moment.
Dolly Shot: This shot is similar to the Tracking shot, as it is also following the movement of someone/something, but it is not attached to anything and can follow in any direction. This evokes feelings of connection, as it shows my friend Aiden, picking up a book that is about a popular figure and it shows his interests/things he may be passionate about.
Zoom: This movement is where you aim to bring the audience closer to an object by adjusting the camera lens rather than physically moving the camera. This shot evokes feelings of belonging, because it focuses on the feelings of my friend Christopher, who may be in a debate with somebody and that can make the audience feel included in his everyday life.
Reverse Zoom: This is a movement that zooms in and then back out. This adds a dramatic effect and evokes feelings of loneliness as it focuses on my friend Marta sitting sadly and reading her book as the classmate in front of her sits and focuses on his work, almost hiding his face.
